7th grade has begun creating wonderful geometric watercolor designs inspired by the work of Sonia Delaunay, Russian artist by way of France, who co-founded the Orphism movement whose artists used strong colors and geometric shapes.

The first assignment that students are working on is to create a design for their portfolio covers. They will design their name and draw it in one point perspective to make it appear as if it is flying out at you from the page!

For the final project, students will have a choice of three projects to be completed by next Wednesday, March 15th. They may choose to create a 2-page visual journal spread, a radial balance collage, or a square as part of a collaborative collage project. (see details of each below)
