Congratulations to the following students whose work was chosen to represent Lost Mountain at the annual Middle School Master's art show. There will be a reception honoring their achievments this Thursday from 6-8 at the Art Station, Big Shanty
Please see the following and attached information from Joanna Strickland from the Abernathy Arts Center:
Abernathy Arts Center, located in the heart of Sandy Springs, is preparing for another summer full of creativity, exploration and imagination. This year we are happy to be able to offer the Teen Artists Academy. This is a 2 week intensive arts program in visual arts for artists between the ages of 13 and 18 and will be held Monday, July 6th – Friday, July 17 from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm. Participants will receive in-depth instruction and training in a variety of disciplines from professional artists through practice, lectures, projects, and collaborative instruction. Students will gain a working knowledge of how to look at and present their work. Students work will be presented to the community with an exhibition at the end of the program in our gallery. The purpose of the Teen Artists Academy is to give young people with promising artistic potential a better understanding of the skill, creativity, commitment, and discipline that is expected of professionals in their field. For that reason, we challenge every participant to work at their highest potential, to strive to achieve the best expression of their talent, and to appreciate their artistic, professional, and personal growth as they celebrate the growth of their fellow participants. The cost of the program is $170.00 for Fulton County residents; $180.00 for non-residents. All fees are due by the first day of the program. Scholarships available. Please share this information with all the talented young artists that you know. The Teen Artists Academy’s goal is to help young people hone their skills, become more focused, and begin seeing themselves as budding professionals – and, it’s an incredibly exciting and enjoyable experience for everyone! See the attached flyer and application for all of the details. Contact Pamela Kramer at 404-613-6173 to set up an interview or if you would like to discuss the program further. |
