All students should have their art materials by now. They need to have a sketchbook and white eraser each day in class. They may also want to bring in their own colored pencils, glue stick, and sharpie as well.
All students that ordered a sketchbook from the school last week should have their sketchbooks to them by the end of the day tomorrow. Cobb County's Food and Nutrition services department is putting on a new contest this month called "Farm to School month." If you would like to submit an artwork as a part of this contest, please give it to Mrs. Denison by October 11th.

WHAT I SEE FOR THE FUTURE…THIS YEAR'S CONTEST IS NOW OPEN What does the future look like? Are cities built in the clouds? Is it a place where everyone gets along - even cats and dogs? Or maybe a world where nobody ever gets sick? With the Google homepage as their canvas, young artists are invited to reach into their imagination and share what they see for the future. The winner’s artwork will be featured on the Google homepage. LET THE DOODLING BEGIN USE ANYMATERIALS ARTISTSK-12 WINNING DOODLE ONGOOGLE.COM Students in grades K-12 are invited to take part in the 2016 Doodle 4 Google contest, and create a doodle that tells the world “What I see for the future.” From crayons to clay, graphic design, or even food, young artists can utilize any materials to bring their creation to life. Like all Google Doodles, each doodle must incorporate the letters G-o-o-g-l-e. One national winner will also receive a $30,000 college scholarship. The contest is open for entries from September 14, 2016 to December 2, 2016. To help promote the PTSA Reflections art contest this year, I am going to be giving bonus points to any art student who submits an entry this year. The theme this year is: What's your story? 7th and 8th grade students: Don't forget sketchbooks and art supplies needed for class are due Tuesday, August 9th. Please see your syllabus for what supplies are needed for your class.
