6th grade has begun creating visual journals; part journal, part sketchbook, part scrapbook, and more! We are using lots of mixed media and layers. Can wait to see how these develop!
I have the first students finishing up with their Negative Space Yarn Painting. It is taking longer than I first anticipated, but the results look great! The project will be due THIS FRIDAY!!! However if students are not finished, they may take it home over the weekend to complete.
Check out the results of how it will look when it is finished! Good Day Lost Mountain Parents and Students!
Do you have abandoned knitting or crochet projects that you will never get around to finishing?! Well 6th grade art students are willing to take that yarn off of your hands. Don't let the knitting basket mock you with that unfinished project! We want to help! Please donate any unwanted yarn scraps to the 6th grade art students...we are going to make something great from it! Drop of yarn donations to Art Room 149, or place them in Julie Denison's mail box! Thanks for your support. (6th grade wants to thank you for being so yarn-tastic!) Today, 6th grade students will begin working on a negative space drawing. the backgrounds will have designs added using yarn painting!
Students are finishing up their Radial Balance Designs and will be turning them in today. They are required to turn in the rubric with their finished piece. Extra Rubrics can be downloaded from below.
When students get finished with their Zentangle Shape assignment, they have an opportunity to work on 3 mini assignments. The first is an Op Art Line Design.
6th grade has been working on creating relief sculptures out of recycled paper towel and toilet paper rolls! I can wait to see the results!
6th grade is beginning to create a work of art inspired by the Pop Art movement. They will explore popular culture of brands and advertising and narrow their focus to candy packaging as the main focal point of this artwork.
Students are finishing up their paper bird collages and will need to turn them in by the end of the class period on Monday, November 3rd.
