When finishing up our Relief Tiles, our focus is good craftsmanship. Compare and contrast the following tiles and figure out what has the best craftsmanship and why.
Tuesday and Wednesday we will begin our tiles for the Roman Relief tiles. Mrs. Denison will demonstrate both additive and subtractive techniques.
Students created a 2-page spread featuring pop up. In the background students added collaged papers to fill the negative space. They also included a title and definition for the page.
Once students have drawn out their rough draft, they will need to add shading. Dark for the back layer, medium for the middle layer and light for the top layer of the relief.
Today, the students will begin their next project to create a tile relief inspired by Roman Architecture.
Students will begin by creating 3 thumbnail sketches onto their rubric. They will then consult with Mrs. Denison to decide which is the best and enlarge that onto their rough draft.
Students created a 2-page spread featuring a text poem. In the background students choose either geometric or organic shapes to add with prismacolor pencils. They also included a title and definition for the page.
