Today we are going to use the laptops to do some art using computer technology. We will be looking at the photographs of Annie Leibovitz and colorizing them with our own color schemes. Follow the step-by-step instructions in the word document below in order to colorize your own Annie Leibovitz photograph. Make sure you re-save the work using your name so that you get credit for the assignment today. Please note, Pixlr doesn't work with google chrome.
Students are required to do value shading on their skeleton or mannequin drawings, so today we practiced how to use the shading pencils and get gradual changes from dark to light. Below is a guide for how to shade, a shading in progress, and a completed shading sheet.
Students have begun creating thumbnail sketches for their mannequin/skeleton composition. They will use view finders to crop in on an interesting part of the mannequin or skeleton to help draw accurate contours. They will then add shading using various drawing pencils. Finally, students will create a choice of backgrounds using either watercolor techniques or bubble printmaking to create interest in the negative space.
Are you thinking about a career in the arts? Wonder what it is like to take art at the college level? Check out KSU's open studio event happening THIS THURSDAY!!
Students are creating a 2-page spread featuring an "ombre" design in the background out of various hues of tissue paper. They also included a title and definition for the page in an interesting way.
This pass will allow my 8th grade art students to come work on their clay project Wednesday September, 21st.
Thanks, Julie Denison When finishing up our Relief Tiles, our focus is good craftsmanship. Compare and contrast the following tiles and figure out what has the best craftsmanship and why.
