WaterSmart Entry Form

For those of you whose artwork I have chosen for the Watersmart art contest, please submit your entry form to me by Tuesday, October 4th.  

Submitted entries will be featured in a gallery exhibition at The Art Station Big Shanty from November 3 – November 17, where a team of judges will select 12 winning pieces, which will be featured in the 2017 waterSmart waterArt calendar. Additional superlative honors will also be featured.

Altered Book: Color

Students created a 2-page spread featuring an "ombre" design in the background out of various hues of tissue paper. They also included a title and definition for the page in an interesting way.

Today we are continuing our Roman Relief tile.  We focused on adding multiple layers to create more detail on our designs as well as using the ribbon tool to carve layers into the clay.

Altered Book:  form

Students created a 2-page spread featuring pop up.  In the background students added collaged papers to fill the negative space.  They also included a title and definition for the page.

Roman Relief:  Add Shading

Once students have drawn out their rough draft, they will need to add shading.  Dark for the back layer, medium for the middle layer and light for the top layer of the relief.

Roman Relief Sculpture

Today, the students will begin their next project to create a tile relief inspired by Roman Architecture.

Students will begin by creating 3 thumbnail sketches onto their rubric.  They will then consult with Mrs. Denison to decide which is the best and enlarge that onto their rough draft.

Altered Book: Shape

Students created a 2-page spread featuring a text poem.  In the background students choose either geometric or organic shapes to add with prismacolor pencils.  They also included a title and definition for the page.
