Students will need to turn in their Zentangle project today before the end of class. If students do not finish, they may take them home to complete and turn in next week. However, we will be moving on to a new assignment, so they won't be able to work on them in class. If students need to come in before school, they may get a pass from me the day before.

Students are beginning their first large project where they will be creating Zentangles focusing on line, pattern, and value.
Throughout this school year, VA Comp students are required to work outside of class 60 minutes per week, or a total of 2000 minutes during the school year. Logged studio time can include time spent out of class working on projects, doing online assessments, and sketchbook assignments. Students can also log minutes through visiting art galleries, museums, art fairs, or artists' markets. Minutes students spend working on projects in the art room before school from 8:15-8:50 may also count towards their studio log. Students will receive a log today in class that they will need to keep up with throughout the year. My suggestion is that students tape the log inside their sketchbook and have their parents sign off as soon as they complete the studio activity. These logs will be taken up and checked 3 times per semester to ensure that students are on track. A copy of the log can be found here.
