WEEBLY BLOG CHECK November 17th
The following is what will be due this Thursday. All blogs are due by the beginning of class on Thursday, November 17th. This blog check will count as a sketchbook grade and will be worth 120 points. Please see below for a complete breakdown of what will be graded: You have 5 pages with the following titles: (20 points)
Students are going to finish up the last step of the skeleton shading project and turn it in on Monday. If students need more time to work on shading, they may come in on Monday or Tuesday morning to catch up! (you may even print out this blog post as your pass!)
Students are working on their Altered book VALUE 2 page spread. Last week they picked a portrait from a magazine and ripped out the center section. This section they will replace with a value drawing. Students will be using a range of shading pencils from ebony, HB, and 2H to get very dark and very light value ranges. Students will then glue the magazine portrait into their altered book and decorate the altered book with black and white values for the rest of the 2 page spread. Students must also include the title: Value and its definition: lightness and darkness in a work of art. See the sample below for more ideas.
Here are some great photos from our bubble printmaking day last Friday. It was a huge success!
8th grade was experimenting with several different watercolor techniques to create an abstract composition that would serve as a background for our skeleton drawings!
Today in class Mrs. Denison will demonstrate how to upload photos to your weebly blog. Be sure you have good quality photos, they are completely strait (not at an angle), they are cropped with no extra space around the edges. (see good vs. bad quality photos below)
Monochromatic Self Portraits completed and on the walls! Be sure to check them out!
