Students have begun drawing out their Superheroes for their Talisman project. They will be required to add shading using colored pencil with light, medium, and dark values.
Students are starting on the background of their Superhero Talisman projects. These will be mixed media works of art incorporating several layers. The focal point will include a superhero "breaking through" the struggles and challenges of the artist.
We have been super busy over the last few days! We have been creating backgrounds for our Movement page in our altered books, learning about gesture drawing to create movement, and creating our mixed media layers for our Superhero Talisman assignment! Mixed Media Layers:
Below is just a taste of the fun, creative things we have been doing in the past few days!
Today we brainstormed for our Superhero Talisman challenge. Students will create a mixed media composition that includes items from an area that they struggle with. They will then create a superhero (to combat their struggles) that will be the focal point for the composition. HOMEWORK: Students need to find items to include in their background collage that deal with the area of struggle.
